Ferries from Harwich to Scandinavia

The only direct ferry route from the UK to Scandinavia is operated by DFDS Seaways, from the International Port of Harwich on the Essex coast to Esbjerg in Denmark. As this is the only ferry to Denmark from the UK, it provides an excellent gateway to the rest of Scandinavia as well as other northern European countries, which are a relatively short drive away. Sweden, Norway, Germany and Poland are all easily accessible via the ferry to Denmark.

DFDS Seaways operates the ferry crossing to Denmark 3-4 times per week depending on the season. As with other DFDS Seaways routes, the crossing is overnight, departing from Harwich at around 17.45 and arriving in Esbjerg at around 1pm the following day.

The overnight journey to Denmark allows you plenty of time to enjoy a relaxed onboard experience. All passengers are required to book a cabin, so you have a comfortable bed to enjoy a good night’s sleep, arriving fresh and relaxed the next day. There is a choice of cabin grades, from standard Seaways Class with en-suite shower/toilet. Sea view cabins sleep up to 4 and inside cabins sleep up to 6. You can upgrade to a higher quality of cabin, such as the Sirena Class or Commodore De Luxe. Sirena Class comes with sea views, TV, complimentary breakfast and small mini bar. Commodore De Luxe also comes with sea views, TV, complimentary breakfast and also steward service and access to the Commodore De Luxe Lounge.

The m.s. Dana Sirena has many other facilities that will help make your ferry crossing from Harwich to Denmark as enjoyable as possible. You can enjoy a good meal in one of the onboard restaurants, with three to choose from there is something to suit all tastes, whilst there is also a bar with live music, shops and films on demand in your cabin.
